Cycle Syncing for Women in Business

I’m ready for Less AND Better™

Let’s make profit a habit.

I’ll be honest: this is an awkward conversation to have publicly.

Even after a year of researching and testing various tools and methods, I still find cycle syncing to be one of the most challenging parts of running my business. Not because it's overly complicated—but because it's still considered taboo.

For women, "cycle syncing" means aligning our daily habits and business rhythms with the natural hormonal shifts of our menstrual cycle. This might include nutrition, movement, calendar planning, decision-making, and self-care. The goal? To stop fighting our biology and start flowing with it.

The result is less burnout, fewer meltdowns, and more powerful, well-timed productivity.

But Let’s Be Real: This Is Not What We Were Taught

In most professional spaces, we pretend women operate on a 24-hour cycle just like men. We are expected to be steady, available, productive, and sharp—every single day.

But our biology tells a different story.

I used to think that my PMS symptoms—the sluggishness, irritability, achiness, brain fog, and drop in motivation—were just personal weaknesses. Something to hide, push through, or (if possible) medicate away.

Now I know better.

How I Started Syncing My Business to My Body

I began to track my cycle and noticed very clear patterns:

  • During and directly before my period, I craved quiet, space, rest, and slowness. Socializing and strategy felt like sandpaper.

  • During ovulation, I felt magnetic, energetic, and lit up by connection. Perfect for client-facing work.

  • During the two weeks in between, I had my best focus and output—as long as I wasn’t over-scheduled or overstimulated.

So I made some changes:

  • I blocked off what I called Rest Week around my period—no client calls or sales consults, no big decisions, and lighter workload.

  • I started batch-planning content and meetings during my ovulation phase (which I named my Radiance phase because it makes me feel good).

  • I shifted heavy admin and deep work to the time I felt most pulled to deep focus and routines (luteal, which I named my Rhythm phase).

  • I practiced saying no to meetings and commitments that didn’t respect this rhythm.

This Isn’t Easy—But It Is Worth It

I won’t sugarcoat it: syncing your cycle with your business takes experimentation, boundary-setting, and a fair amount of courage.

It’s hard to explain to a colleague why you’re not available for a meeting when your calendar looks "open."

It’s uncomfortable to protect your rest time when you’re used to powering through.

And it can be scary to say no to things that technically could fit in your schedule.. just not your energy.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

When I stop pretending I’m the same every week, I stop being disappointed by inconsistent results.

I make fewer mistakes. I recover faster. I serve my clients more powerfully. And most of all, I feel a little less like I’m losing myself and my mind in the grind.

You're Not Broken. You're Brilliant (and Cyclical).

One of the biggest lies hustle culture tells women is that our natural rhythms are inconvenient or unprofessional. In truth, they’re informative. When you start to pay attention to them, everything begins to make more sense.

You don’t need to go full herbalist-goddess mode to make this work. You can start small: track your energy for a month. Block off your first day of bleeding. Delay a meeting 48 hours to see if it lands better in your Radiance phase.

Just see what happens.
