This is quiet work. It won't feel like progress at first, and it may feel like you're not building anything yet. You are. The part that gets you back to level ground is the foundation.

That's the part that takes time, and it's the part you can't skip on your way to something bigger, or the whole house crumbles.

You Don't Get to Neutral by Accident

Neutral, the point where the hole is filled and you're standing on solid ground, is not the finish line. It's the starting line.

You can't build a legacy standing in a hole. You can't even rest there, since all your energy goes to just staying upright.

But once you're standing on level ground, with your fees current, your cost to deliver a visit known, and your own paycheck no longer last in line, something shifts. Now the work you do goes somewhere. Now the hours you keep are the hours you chose. Now the money you keep is money that compounds instead of leaking out through cracks you never had time to find.

That's the order: Stop digging. Fill it in. Then build.

You simply cannot do it the other way around.
